1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the CE Alerts platform and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. The Service is operated by CE Alerts ("we," "our," or "us").

2. Description of Service

CE Alerts is an alarm and notification management platform that provides:

  • Real-time alarm monitoring and management for buildings and locations
  • Push notifications delivered to registered mobile devices
  • SMS text message alerts to registered phone numbers
  • In-app notifications and broadcast messaging
  • IoT endpoint integration for automated alarm triggering and clearing
  • Web-based dashboard for alarm and notification administration

3. User Accounts

  • Accounts are created and managed by system administrators. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must notify your system administrator immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or deactivate accounts at any time for violation of these Terms.

4. Push Notifications

By registering your mobile device with the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You consent to receive push notifications on your registered device, including alarm alerts, safety notifications, and system messages
  • Push notifications are delivered through third-party services including Amazon Web Services Simple Notification Service (AWS SNS) and Apple Push Notification Service (APNS)
  • Notification delivery depends on network connectivity, device settings, and third-party service availability — we do not guarantee real-time delivery of every notification
  • You may disable push notifications at any time through your device's operating system settings; however, doing so may prevent you from receiving critical alarm alerts
  • Push notifications may contain sensitive alarm information including alarm type, location, and descriptive messages

5. SMS and Text Message Notifications

By providing your phone number and enabling SMS notifications on your account, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You consent to receive SMS text messages from CE Alerts at the phone number associated with your account
  • You may opt in to SMS notifications by texting START to our designated phone number
  • SMS messages may include alarm alerts with alarm type, descriptive message, and building name
  • Message frequency varies and depends on alarm activity at your assigned buildings; there is no fixed message limit
  • Message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier and service plan
  • SMS messages are delivered through the Twilio messaging platform
  • We do not guarantee delivery of SMS messages — delivery depends on carrier availability, network conditions, and the Twilio service
  • You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by texting STOP to our designated phone number, or by contacting your system administrator
  • You may text HELP to our designated phone number for assistance
  • Opting out of SMS notifications may prevent you from receiving critical alarm alerts via text message
  • For additional help or questions about SMS notifications, contact your system administrator

6. In-App Notifications

The Service delivers in-app notifications that may be targeted to you individually or broadcast to all users. You are responsible for regularly reviewing your notification inbox. Notifications may have an expiration date after which they are no longer displayed.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Trigger false alarms or misuse the alarm system
  • Share your login credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Attempt to access buildings, locations, or data outside your assigned groups
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise access the source code of the Service
  • Tamper with IoT endpoints or their authentication keys

8. Alarm Response Disclaimer

The Service is a notification and communication tool designed to assist with alarm management. It is not a replacement for professional emergency response services.

  • Always contact emergency services (e.g., 911) directly in the event of a life-threatening emergency
  • We do not guarantee that alarms or notifications will be delivered in real time or at all due to potential network, device, or service disruptions
  • We are not responsible for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from delayed, missed, or undelivered notifications
  • The Service should be used as part of a comprehensive safety plan, not as the sole means of emergency communication

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by CE Alerts and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for use of the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
